My approach and your safety

Decisions about health require care, clear information and a realistic understanding of possibilities and limitations. These principles guide my consultations, which complement medical diagnosis and treatment.

My approach

Prevention and timely action

Identifying and addressing modifiable health risks, and taking changes seriously at an early stage. This also includes suggesting medical assessment when appropriate and providing information about screening tests suited to your individual circumstances.

Considering symptoms in context

Alongside individual symptoms, I consider possible contributing factors, lifestyle habits, existing findings and previous treatments. The aim is to support the medical investigation of underlying causes and identify suitable opportunities for improvement.

Weighing up the options carefully

Recommendations should suit your situation. Expected benefits, possible side effects and risks, and suitable alternatives all matter. The burden involved, costs and feasibility in everyday life also form part of the assessment. You make decisions about medical treatment in consultation with the practice or clinic providing your care.

Supporting informed, independent decisions

I explain the reasons for my recommendations and discuss uncertainties and limitations openly. This helps you assess the options and make informed decisions.

Supporting changes in everyday life

Measures to support your health need to fit your circumstances and capabilities. The focus is on realistic steps that you can maintain over time.

Scientific principles and transparency

My consultations combine scientific knowledge with many years of experience in my practice. I assess the strength of the evidence from scientific studies and critically reflect on my practical experience. I distinguish between well-supported findings, plausible explanations and unanswered questions. Neither a plausible explanation nor a single positive experience proves, on its own, that a measure is effective.

I critically review my recommendations and the way I work, pursue continuing education and adapt my approach when new findings call for it.

I do not receive visits from pharmaceutical sales representatives or accept gifts, commissions or other benefits from pharmaceutical companies. To the best of my knowledge, I do not attend training courses or events funded by pharmaceutical companies. I also avoid training about a manufacturer’s products when I am aware of relevant financial ties between the speakers and that manufacturer.

Practice premises

The practice offers over 74 m² for consultations and other services.

Hygiene and protection

Protecting you from infections transmitted through the air is a high priority in my practice. Breathing, speaking, coughing and sneezing can release pathogens into the surrounding air. A continuous supply of fresh air and high-performance air purification reduce this airborne contamination and lower the risk of transmission.

The practice is equipped with a high-performance air purifier with a ULPA U15 filter, as well as several mobile high-performance air purifiers with HEPA and activated carbon filters. They continuously clean the indoor air, supplementing the fresh air supplied by the supply and exhaust ventilation system. Incoming fresh air also passes through HEPA and activated carbon filters.

Filtration also reduces fine particulate matter, allergens and certain gaseous pollutants – to minimise pollutants and particles in the air you breathe during your visit.
